Royce Freeman Claimed By The Panthers
3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers claimed free-agent running back Royce Freeman on Thursday. Denver cut him on Tuesday after spending three seasons with the team. The 25-year-old rush for 170 yards on 35 carries and caught 12 passes for 81 yards across 16 games in 2020. Freeman will look to carve out a role in the Panthers backfield behind Christian McCaffrey and Chuba Hubbard, who had an impressive preseason. The former Denver Bronco is expected to be the Panthers' RB3 behind CMC and Hubbard. He was signed by Carolina for depth purposes. Fantasy managers should continue to target Hubbard over Freeman as McCaffrey's backup in upcoming fantasy drafts.
