Royce Freeman A Risky Play In Week 14
6 years agoDespite taking a back seat to Phillip Lindsay in this rushing attack, Denver Broncos rookie running back Royce Freeman received 12 carries in Week 13, and in picking up four yards per tote, he appears to be over the ankle injury that forced him to miss two games. The 49ers pose a stiffer challenge in Week 14, but Denver's backs have combined to receive 23 carries per game which lead all but six backfields this season. And, with Emmanuel Sanders being placed on IR, an even more run-centric approach definitely isn't out of the question. Freeman seems likely to see enough volume to warrant lineup consideration this week, and his touchdown potential makes his prospects a little more promising. Now that we find ourselves in the fantasy football playoffs, however, the risk is too great to take in season-long formats but Freeman could provide flex-worthy numbers for courageous DFS players looking to save a couple dollars.
