2 years agoThe Kansas City Royals reached a one-year deal with free agent pitcher Ryan Yarbrough Tuesday, per the team's Twitter page. Pitcher Wyatt Mills was designated for assignment in a corresponding move. The 30-year-old lefty spent five seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays, compiling a 4.33 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 19.2% strikeout rate. However, he only pitched 80 innings in 2022 before being designated for assignment, going 3-8 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. While Yarbrough could serve as a decent back-of-the-rotation option for the Royals, his lack of strikeouts combined with a new poor lineup supporting him limits his fantasy value.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
