Royals Land Nick Anderson In Trade With Braves
1 year agoThe Kansas City Royals acquired relief pitcher Nick Anderson from the Atlanta Braves on Friday in exchange for cash considerations, according to a source. The Braves were expected to non-tender Anderson, so they'll get a little cash instead. Anderson's season ended prematurely due to a shoulder injury. Before that, he went 4-0 with a 3.06 ERA (3.09 FIP), 1.10 WHIP, one save, nine walks and 36 strikeouts in 35 1/3 relief innings in his first big-league season since 2021 with the Tampa Bay Rays. As long as the 33-year-old veteran right-hander is healthy in 2024, he could be in line for a bigger late-inning role in Kansas City's bullpen.
