Rowdy Tellez Smacks Three-Run Homer In Loss To Tigers
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays designated hitter Rowdy Tellez was not in Sunday's starting lineup against the Detroit Tigers, but he delivered when he was needed most. Tellez smacked a three-run, pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to erase the Tigers 3-0 lead. The 24-year-old slugger is hoping he can carve out an everyday role with the team after Kendrys Morales' departure. Tellez has impressive power, and he posted a .314 average to go along with four home runs and 12 RBI in a 23-game stint with the Jays last season. Tellez can stay on the waiver wire until he is guaranteed a starting role. If he becomes a regular in the lineup, he is a worthy flier in AL-only and deeper mixed leagues.
