Rowan Wick Transferred To 60-Day Injured List
4 years agoChicago Cubs relief pitcher Rowan Wick (oblique) has been transferred from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list. Wick has been dealing with an oblique injury since last September and was working his way back, but manager David Ross said that Wick began experiencing soreness in between bullpen sessions and that the club has decided to be cautious with the reliever. Wick has been one of the better relievers for the Cubs over the last two seasons with a 2.43 ERA in 2019 and a 3.12 ERA this past season. Wick has also recorded five holds in each of the past two seasons. The Cubs bullpen outside of Craig Kimbrel has really struggled this season and Wick could eventually play a big role and receive holds if can get healthy. He would also be a candidate to close if the Cubs deal Kimbrel.
