Ross Stripling Set For First Rehab Start
4 months agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Ross Stripling (elbow) is set to make his first rehab start with Single-A Stockton on Tuesday, July 9. He is expected to have a pitch count set around 35. The 34-year-old was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 25 with a right elbow strain. Prior to the injury, the right-hander struggled with a hefty 5.82 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP. However, he did hold a 4.8% walk rate, which is one of the best marks in baseball. If his rehab start goes well, he will be moved up to Triple-A Las Vegas where he will have a much larger workload. Stripling should slot back into the Oakland rotation when he is activated and could be worth a look in favorable matchups in deeper AL-only formats.
