Ross Chastain Needs To Turn Things Around If He Wants To Contend In Playoffs
1 year agoThere was a point earlier this season that Ross Chastain was the leader in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings, but the Trackhouse Racing driver has hit a major rough patch over the last few months. Although he did get a win at Nashville back in June, Chastain has struggled to find speed in the majority of races this summer. In the 14 races since Kansas back in May, Chastain has just one top-five finish (his win at Nashville) along with nine results outside of the top-15 entirely. Currently, his average finish during this season is 15.3, a full two positions worse than his average result last year, when he made the final four Championship race. If he wants to make it to Phoenix again this season, the No. 1 Trackhouse Racing team is going to have to find more speed in the postseason.
