2 years agoSince the inception of the NextGen car in 2022, Chastain has finished top 13 in all superspeedway races except the two Daytona races. In those eight races, Chastain has a win and has finished ninth, fourth, and second place on two separate occasions. Talladega has been kind to Chastain, a superspeedway that he took the win in the spring race and a fourth-place finish in the fall. In the last six races at Talladega, he has an average finish of 14th. Chastain will start 23rd Sunday at the beginning of the GEICO 500, but will not be content to stay there.--Eric DeWilde
