1 year agoOn Sunday afternoon, Ross Chastain picked up his second checkered flag of the season by winning the 2023 Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Despite having had success at Phoenix in the past, Sunday's victory did come as a bit of a surprise, as the final race has always been won by a Championship 4 driver. Evidence of just how surprising this performance was can be seen in the fact that his ownership level was just 8.62% on DraftKings. Nevertheless, with a race-high 157 laps led, what the No. 1 did on Sunday afternoon was set the tone for what to expect in 2024.
