Ross Chastain Could Contend At Darlington On Sunday
2 years agoRoss Chastain put himself in a good position for Sunday's Goodyear 400. The Trackhouse Racing driver qualified fifth a mere 0.227 seconds off from the time of Martin Truex Jr. Chastain loves the hard racing that Darlington offers. The No. 1 car was near the lead for most of the first two stages last May. It was an accident that ended his day after leading the way for 26 laps. If Chastain can avoid the big one and some other drivers looking to race hard, then the Chevy driver could contend once again at Darlington. Only Kyle Larson's car was faster at a 30-lap practice interval.
