Ronny Mauricio Playing Second Base
2 years agoNew York Mets shortstop Ronny Mauricio has been on fire at the plate during his first 18 games at Triple-A this season. Unfortunately for him, Francisco Lindor is locked in as the starting shortstop in New York. That being said, the Mets have decided to shift Mauricio over to second base. The 22-year-old will get his first start at second base on Friday with Triple-A Syracuse. This could be a sign that Mauricio is nearing a call up to the big leagues. Right now, he's slashing .358/.411/.761 with six homers, seven doubles this season. It shouldn't be long before he's hitting in the big league lineup.
