Roman Phansalkar Looking For Better Results In Next Opportunity At High-A
5 months agoLos Angeles Angels pitching prospect Roman Phansalkar is being promoted to High-A Tri-City. Phansalkar will now get a third opportunity at this level after bouncing between Tri-City and Single-A Inland for the past two seasons. The Oklahoma State product opened the season with High-A but struggled with a 4.73 ERA and 1.65 WHIP across 13 ⅓ innings of relief. He was then sent back down to Single-A to work things out, and the young right-hander looks prepared to post better results. He did not allow an earned run through all of May and held a strong 0.86 WHIP. The 26-year-old should continue to operate out of the bullpen at High-A but may be eased into games at first and not be given opportunities in high-leverage situations. For now, he should remain on the waiver wire in dynasty leagues, but could be worth monitoring if he begins to put it together at this level.
