Roman Josi Inks Big Extension With Nashville
5 years agoNashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi signed an eight-year, $72.472 million (average annual value of $9.059 million) to remain in the Music City on Tuesday. The Swiss native is currently finishing up the final season of his seven-year contract and was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Josi's new deal includes a full no-movement clause, an added bonus that is rarely handed out by Preds General Manager David Poile. Having established himself as one of the game's finest defensemen over recent years, Josi is off to a blazing start to the 2019-2020 campaign - ranking second among all NHL blueliners with 13 points (five goals, eight assists) while averaging 24:32 of ice time per game through 11 games. He's a must-start fantasy option each night he suits up so make sure he's active in lineups ahead of his next game versus the Blackhawks on Tuesday.
