Roman Anthony Riding Five-Game Hitting Streak
4 months agoBoston Red Sox outfield prospect Roman Anthony extended his hitting streak to five games on Sunday, July 21, by tallying two hits. He also swiped two bags in this game and brought in one run. Since the start of July, the 20-year-old has only gone hitless twice and held a strong .500 slugging percentage. Overall through his first extended look at Double-A, the center fielder has posted a solid .244/.348/.453 slash line with 11 home runs, 29 RBI, and 10 stolen bases. Anthony is considered the second-best prospect in the Boston system on MLB.com and is making a strong case to see time in the major leagues next summer.
