Rockies Sign Scott Alexander To One-Year Deal
1 day agoThe Colorado Rockies signed free-agent left-hander Scott Alexander to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to The Denver Post's Patrick Saunders. To make room on the team's 40-man roster, the Rockies designated infielder Aaron Schunk for assignment in a corresponding move. The 35-year-old southpaw will give the Rockies young bullpen some veteran experience to open the 2025 season. Alexander broke into the big leagues back in 2015 with the Kansas City Royals and has also pitched for the Dodgers, Giants and A's. He had a nice 2.56 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 31 strikeouts and 15 walks in 38 2/3 relief innings for the A's last year. Alexander can be a weapon against left-handed batters with a sinker that induces plenty of ground balls, but he won't really be a fantasy weapon in Colorado.
