Rockies-Royals Rained Out On Wednesday
20 seconds agoOut of an abundance of caution, the game on Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City between the Royals and Colorado Rockies has been postponed due to inclement weather and will be played as the second game of a traditional doubleheader on Thursday, starting at 1:10 pm CT. Veteran right-hander Michael Lorenzen was scheduled to toe the rubber for the Royals in this one, with veteran right-hander German Marquez scheduled to make the start for the last-place Rockies. Although nothing is official yet, we'd expect both pitchers to be pushed back to one of the games of the twin bill on Thursday. Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. will now have to wait until Thursday's games to try to extend his current hitting streak to 15 games. He's gone 18-for-50 (.360) with a homer, six doubles, four RBI and four steals during his 14-game hitting streak.
