Robinson Chirinos Suffers Left Side Injury On Wednesday
3 years agoChicago Cubs catcher Robinson Chirinos (side) was lifted in the seventh inning of Wednesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. He grabbed his left side after a check swing during his seventh inning at-bat. He was then visited by a trainer and manager David Ross and promptly lifted from the game. Chirinos and Austin Romine have been serving as backups to starting catcher Willson Contreras lately. Romine would become the primary backup if Chirinos is forced to miss time. Over 45 games on the year, Chirinos is slashing .227/.324/.454 with five home runs, 15 RBI and 13 runs.
