Robinson Cano Leaves Early Wednesday
5 years agoNew York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano (quadriceps) left the game early in the third inning on Wednesday with left quadriceps tightness. The Mets also scratched infielder Luis Guillorme from the lineup at Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, so they might be preparing to place Cano on the injured list. The 36-year-old veteran was hitless in his two plate appearances and is now hitting just .241/.287/.371 with three homers and 13 RBI in 181 plate appearances on the season. His power has all but evaporated and he won't be a must-hold in mixed leagues if he lands on the shelf. Adeiny Hechavarria replaced Cano at the keystone on Wednesday and could see more playing time if Cano misses more time. Jeff McNeil could be an option there as well.
