Robert Williams III Eyes Return In 4-6 Weeks After Surgery
3 years agoBoston Celtics center Robert Williams III (knee) underwent surgery on his left meniscus Tuesday, with the team eyeing a return to game action in the next 4-6 weeks. That timeline assures that Williams will be shut down for the remainder of the regular season, with a best-case scenario likely being a return for the second round of the playoffs. In his first start since rejoining the Celtics, Daniel Theis played 41 minutes Monday and logged a double-double, indicative of the role that he figures to play in Williams' absence. Williams finishes the 2021-22 year having averaged 10 points and 9.6 rebounds per contest, all while shooting 73.6% overall, all of which are new career bests.

Robert Williams III Out Against Jazz
3 weeks agoPortland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) will not play on Monday against the Utah Jazz. He has been ruled out for a second consecutive game due to left knee soreness. The latter impressed with 20 points and 14 rebounds in Saturday's blowout win against the Charlotte Hornets. Clingan has had a couple of quiet showings but is averaging 7.6 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks in a starting role.

Robert Williams III Available On Thursday
4 weeks agoPortland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) is active ahead of Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Williams missed the final two games before the All-Star break as he continues to manage a lingering knee issue. He's back in action on Thursday after missing seven of the last nine games. Williams is likely going to be asked to play a bigger role in the rotation going forward with Deandre Ayton (calf) being sidelined right now. Donovan Clingan should start which means Williams will get the backup minutes behind him. It probably won't be enough playing time to warrant starting Williams in most fantasy formats.

Robert Williams III Unavailable On Wednesday
1 month agoPortland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Wednesday's game against the Denver Nuggets. The Blazers are going to take the cautious approach and hold out Williams for the final two games before the All-Star break. His absence is going to leave the Blazers shorthanded with Deandre Ayton (calf) also sidelined. That means, Donovan Clingan figures to play a big role in the rotation. The rookie big man is looking like a strong streaming option after a 21-point outing on Monday.
