Robert Tonyan Leads Packers In Receptions During Loss
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers tight end Robert Tonyan caught five of six targets and gained 35 yards during the team's 27-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. The 28-year-old led Green Bay in receptions but failed to do much with them. Buffalo was not a good matchup on paper for Tonyan, but he now has a total of 22 targets over the past three weeks. With the Packers wide receiver corps constantly banged up this season, the sixth-year tight end has garnered enough attention from quarterback Aaron Rodgers to be a streaming option in the right matchup. With Green Bay facing the struggling Detroit defense next week, Tonyan should be a pick-up and play streaming option with six teams on bye. His upside in Week 9 will take a small hit if wide receiver Allen Lazard (shoulder) makes his return.
