5 years agoSt. Louis Blues forward Robert Thomas recorded a trio of primary assists in the third period of his team's eventual 4-3 home victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. Trailing 3-0 with just over 15 minutes remaining in the final frame, Thomas took his game to the next level and helped ignite a four-goal burst in regulation to earn the full two points. Thomas' strong performance is yet another reminder of the game-breaking skill that the 20-year-old possesses and provides hope for continued production as Thomas completes the first half of just his second season in the NHL. With 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) in 29 contests, Thomas isn't a player fantasy owners should flock to the waivers to grab right now. However, Thomas is certainly a player to continue monitoring to see if he can sustain this high level of play throughout a number of games. He'll look to extend his current point streak to five games versus the Avalanche on Monday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller

2 months agoSt. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas found the back of the net twice on Thursday evening during their victory over the Anaheim Ducks. Thomas opened the scoring on an unassisted snap shot goal in the first period. Later in the second, Thomas would strike again, this time with Pavel Buchnevich tallying the primary assist. Thomas would tally six shots on goal in this game with two penalty minutes and a +1 rating. This game extended Thomas' goal streak to two games, and he has tallied nine points over his previous eight contests. Overall, the 25-year-old has tallied 33 points (11 goals, 22 helpers) across 31 games this season. Thomas should continue to produce point-per-game production playing on the top unit alongside Pavel Buchnevich and Brandon Saad.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

3 months agoSt. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas scored two goals during their victory over the Nashville Predators on Friday evening. Thomas opened the scoring on an unassisted wrist shot goal in the opening minute which beat netminder Juuse Saros. Thomas would not get back on the scoresheet until later in the final frame where he scored a power-play goal to increase their lead. Thomas has now posted multi-point performances in back-to-back outings. Since the start of December (13 games) Thomas has only been held off the scoresheet on one occasion and has posted six multi-point outings over this span. Fantasy managers should continue to expect the 25-year-old to continue to provide solid offensive production playing on the top unit in St. Louis.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

3 months agoSt. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas led the way as the team beat Vancouver 4-3 in overtime Tuesday night. He was involved in three of St. Louis' four goals, recording a short-handed tally and dishing out two assists. Thomas' season suffered an early blow when he broke his ankle, but the 25-year-old has been very productive since returning to the lineup. Across his last 10 appearances, Thomas has contributed four goals and nine assists. He's averaging over a point per game for the season, having logged five goals and 14 assists in 17 contests.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

4 months agoSt. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas (ankle) will re-enter the lineup on Tuesday against Minnesota. He's back after missing 12 games with a fractured ankle. Thomas picked up six points (one goal, five assists) in seven outings before landing on the shelf. The 25-year-old will resume his duties as the first-line center and will also join the first power-play unit. Thomas was held without a point by the Wild on Oct. 15, but he has amassed 16 points against them throughout his career -- it's his third-highest points tally against any opposition. As a result of Thomas' return, Mathieu Joseph will sit as a healthy scratch on Tuesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
