Robert Suarez Receives 10-Game Suspension
1 year agoSan Diego Padres relief pitcher Robert Suarez has received a 10-game suspension from Major League Baseball on Friday after being ejected for foreign substances on Wednesday. Suarez is appealing the suspension, so he'll be available out of the bullpen for the Friars in the start of a series on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers. The 32-year-old was checked for foreign substances before an appearances against the Miami Marlins, and the umpires ejected him because his left arm was sticky. Even if Suarez wins his appeal, he'll still likely serve some sort of suspension, so fantasy managers in holds leagues should be preparing for him to miss games in the near future. Since making his 2023 debut on July 21, he's allowed seven earned runs on seven hits while walking five and striking out eight in 13 1/3 innings as the team's primary eighth-inning setup man ahead of closer Josh Hader.
