Robert Suarez Nearing A Rehab Stint
1 year agoSan Diego Padres right-hander Robert Suarez (elbow) pitched for a second time in the Arizona Complex league on Tuesday as he continues to recover from an elbow injury that has kept him out the whole season thus far. However, MLB.com reports that the 32-year-old could begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Friday. Over his lone season in the big leagues in 2022, Suarez posted a 2.27 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 31.9% strikeout rate with 11 holds and one save across 47 2/3 innings of work. The Padres have disappointed so far, but fantasy managers can expect the native of Venezuela to earn his fair share of holds if he can stay dominant once he's back.
