Robert MacIntyre A Risky Play With Upside At The PLAYERS Championship
10 hours agoRobert MacIntyre has started six PGA Tour events this year, making the cut in five, including four top-10 finishes. He now turns his attention to THE PLAYERS Championship, an event he has competed in twice, missing the cut in both 2021 and 2024. To succeed at TPC Sawgrass, players need to be solid from tee to green, with an emphasis on accuracy off the tee and on approach. MacIntyre ranks 15th in strokes gained from tee to green (1.044 per round), 21st in driving accuracy, and 55th in strokes gained on approach (0.338 per round). However, he has struggled in proximity from key distances, ranking in just the 28th percentile over the last 12 months in proximity from 100-150 yards, a range that accounted for 32.3% of all approach shots at Sawgrass last year. While MacIntyre carries some risk due to his history at this event, fantasy managers should consider him at his $8,300 price tag on DraftKings.
