Robert Covington Sets New Career High With 43-Point Outing
3 years agoLA Clippers power forward/center Robert Covington enjoyed the best offensive night of his career during Friday's win over the Bucks, as he dropped a career-best 43 points. After coming off the bench in his 18 appearances with the Clippers, Covington stepped into a starting role due to widespread absences (for both teams) Friday; he used that opportunity to drill a career-high 11 threes across his 46 minutes, adding eight rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and two steals to his gargantuan stat line. Since joining LA, Covington has shot 46.1% percent from behind the arc, reclaiming some of his prior season-long value, particularly in category formats due to his all-around production. It's unclear if he'll get the chance to carry such an offensive role again, but his next time out comes Sunday vs. New Orleans.
