Robbie Ray To Miss At Least One Start
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Robbie Ray (elbow bruise) will not make his first start of the season. The veteran right-hander injured his pitching elbow when he fell at his home. He's expected to miss at least one start with an elbow bruise and any extended loss would be a huge blow to the Jays' rotation which was already without Nate Pearson and Thomas Hatch due to injuries. The club could turn to T.J. Zeuch, Trent Thornton, or Anthony Kay to fill in for Ray although Kay left Saturday's game with a shin contusion. Ray had an outstanding spring for the Jays and allowed just three runs in 13.2 innings. He had a K-BB of 18-5 and gave up six hits. He's two years removed from striking out 235 batters in the majors.
