Robbie Ray To Build Upon Strong Resume
7 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Robbie Ray believes that last year's performance was more of a floor than one of his best years, according to Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic. Ray was second in the majors with 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings and third in hits per nine. Ray impressed with 218 strikeouts for the second straight year. Ray admitted a modification in his pitch selection; he rediscovered his curveball and eliminated the changeup and two-seamer from his arsenal. If Ray is able to improve on a great season, he will no doubt move up from a top-30 pitcher towards a top-20 starter.
