Robbie Ray Labors, Cannot Get Out Of The Fifth Inning
5 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Robbie Ray allowed five runs - four earned - and eight hits with four walks across 4 2/3 innings in a loss on Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies. He was able to salvage the fantasy line somewhat with six strikeouts. Ray threw just 59 of his 102 pitches for strikes, including first-pitch strikes to just 13 of the 23 batters he faced. Still, he is 4-2 with a 3.59 ERA overall and he remains a decent fantasy play across most formats, especially for his high rate of strikeouts. He'll look to get back into the win column Monday against the Dodgers, kicking off a two-start week.
