Robbie Ray Fans Three In First Rehab Appearance
6 months agoSan Francisco Giants left-hander Robbie Ray (elbow), who is making his way back from Tommy John surgery last May, struck out three batters in a scoreless inning of work on Tuesday in the Arizona Complex League in his first minor-league rehab outing. It was a nice first outing for Ray, but it was also in the Rookie League. The 32-year-old former American League Cy Young winner in 2021 with the Toronto Blue Jays still has a ways to go to build his left arm all the way back up and will not be a rotation option for the Gigantes until the second half of the season after the All-Star break in mid-July. Ray's strikeout upside makes him attractive in all fantasy formats when he's healthy, but he's also had issues with control in his career, which could be more of an issue as he returns from Tommy John surgery later this season.
