Rishard Matthews Trade Unlikely
6 years agoThe Tennessee Titans are "doubtful" to be able to trade disgruntled wide receiver Rishard Matthews, according to a source. With Matthews voluntarily leaving the team because of his frustration over his role on the offense, the Titans will likely work out a release for the wide receiver. Matthews has just three receptions on six targets for 11 yards through three weeks despite being one of their best receivers the last two years. He had a combined 13 touchdowns in 2016 and 2017, including nine in a breakout 2016 campaign. The 28-year-old was hurt in the offseason and in training camp, but he's healthy now. The Titans coaching staff didn't have him in their game plan, though, and Taywan Taylor has become the No. 2 wideout behind Corey Davis. Matthews can be dropped in all formats.
