Boston Bruins winger Rick Nash logged an assist on the Bruins lone goal on Wednesday, and did it as he was falling to the ice. Nash was struggling for position with Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Dan Girardi right outside Andrei Vasilevskiy’s crease and kept the puck alive in the slot, where David Pastrnak was able to center it for Patrice Bergeron for the goal. This kind of strong net-front presence is exactly what the Bruins had in mind when acquiring the 6-foot-4, 220-pound power forward at the deadline. Nash’s offensive exploits are modest on paper, as he has four points in 10 games this postseason, but three of the four came on Bruins power plays. Nash, with 35 shots (11 this series) also only trails Bergeron by one shot on goal for the team lead. Boston’s power play (34.6 percent) is the best in the playoffs to this point. If you’re in need of special teams players, keep an eye on Nash.--Kevin Acorn
