2 years agoFresh off of a first-place finish at Richmond, Chris Buescher will start fourth in Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400. While momentum can certainly be a thing, Buescher's track history at Michigan suggests that it is unlikely that the No. 17 will be in victory lane in back-to-back weeks. In his 12 Cup starts at this track, the 30-year-old RFK driver has an average finish of 17th place. Given that he starts fourth and that his salary is $8,400 on DraftKings, the nine-year veteran would have to finish at least third to hit value. With no positive track history to fall back on, and given his limited PD upside, limit your exposure to Buescher on Sunday.--Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

1 day agoAlthough he couldn't have known it at the time, Chris Buescher's and Tyler Reddick's slight contact while battling for the lead in last year's spring Darlington race arguably knocked Buescher out of the playoffs since he was leading with nine laps left when Reddick cut his tire and was relegated to a 30th-place finish. The 33 points he lost were far greater than his seven-point deficit to Martin Truex Jr. for the last playoff spot, so Buescher will likely be intensely motivated to right last year's wrong. The issue is that even though he remains just as consistent as ever, the RFK Racing cars seem to be significantly slower and hardly factor for the lead at all. However, Buescher's usually mediocre teammate Ryan Preece qualified second, so it wouldn't be shocking if he rivals last year's speed. Whether he has DFS value largely depends on whether he leads or not, but he probably won't.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoChris Buescher of RFK Racing quietly nabbed a finish of sixth during Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In the first stage, Buescher began the race from the 11th position, riding around the top 15 through the duration of the stage. The No. 17 Ford driver ended stage one in 13th, failing to score stage points. In the second stage, Buescher would end up in the 11th position and fall short of earning stage points again. In the final stage, Buescher kept his car clean and, after his team made improvements, drove into the top 10 and fell short of a top-5 finish. This was a new career-best finish at Homestead for Buescher, as well as the fourth top-10 result of the season, tying him with Kyle Larson and William Byron for the second most this year.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoRFK Racing's Chris Buescher will start 11th for this week's race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Buescher was the only one of the three RFK entries to qualify inside the top 15 for Sunday's race at the Miami track. In nine races at Homestead, Buescher has five top-20 finishes without a single top-10. The No. 17 Ford driver also has five finishes with positive Place Differential collected as well. Through five races so far this season, Buescher has four finishes of 13th or better with positive PD earned twice. In practice for this week's race, Buescher ranked 13th in overall lap averages while only ranking among the top 10 fastest in 30 consecutive lap averages. Considering his salary ($7,900) on DraftKings, low upside, and practice speeds, Buescher is best utilized as a contrarian option for tournament lineups who presents some risk due to his Homestead track history.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoChris Buescher has never finished better than ninth at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 16 career Cup Series starts, but that doesn't mean that there isn't upside for the Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing driver in the Pennzoil 400 this weekend. The No. 17 Ford was actually one of the fastest Fords here at Las Vegas last season, although the finishes don't reflect that. In the spring race last year, Buescher had a loose wheel that derailed his race early, and in the fall event, it became a fuel mileage race and the No. 17 Ford wound up 10th when it was all said and done. At Kansas last season--which is the sister track of Las Vegas--Buescher nearly won the first race and ended up finishing 11th in the fall despite starting back in 25th. This weekend in Vegas, the No. 17 Ford was 10th-fastest in practice with the 16th-best 10-lap average. Buescher will start from 11th-place when the Pennzoil 400 goes green and could challenge for a top-10 finish. In DFS, he's a tournament option at $7,400. Use sparingly or as a pivot.--Jordan McAbee
