Richard Sherman Signs With Tampa Bay
3 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free-agent defensive back Richard Sherman on Tuesday. He visited Tampa Bay on Monday and ultimately ended up agreeing on a deal. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Sherman had talks with the 49ers and Seahawks but chose the Bucs thanks to a recruiting pitch from Tom Brady and the Tampa staff. The 33-year-old was limited to five games in 2020 due to lower-body injuries. He had an impressive 2019 season, racking up 61 tackles, 11 passes defended and three interceptions over 15 games. Sherman improves a currently banged-up Bucs secondary, with Sean Murphy-Bunting (elbow), Jamel Dean (knee) and Carlton Davis III dealing with injuries.
