Richard Bleier Escapes With Save Monday
6 years agoBaltimore Orioles relief pitcher Richard Bleier narrowly earned his first save of the season in Monday's 6-5 win against the Blue Jays. Teammate Mike Wright started the ninth inning but was pulled after allowing a leadoff single. Bleier then entered with a three-run lead but allowed Wright's run to score and a run of his own before getting the three outs. His final line in the inning of work was a run allowed on two hits and no walks with a strikeout. The O's have made it clear that they will not have a set closer for the near future and have stuck with that over the past several games. Fantasy players should avoid this bullpen situation if they can until a clear closer is established.
