Rich Hill Serves Up Three Homers In Tuesday’s Loss
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Rich Hill (6-3) allowed four earned runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out two across six innings during Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Nationals. He was tagged with his third loss of the season. The 41-year-old was hurt by the long ball and surrendered a season-high three homers. His fastball was averaging in the mid-'80s as he labored through six frames on Tuesday. Hill has now allowed four runs or more in each of his last four starts. The southpaw owns a 3.70 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and an 80:30 K: BB across 82 2/3 innings in 2021. Hill will look to bounce back in his next start against Cleveland on Monday.
