Rich Hill, Homer Bailey Progressing In Rehab Work
4 years agoMinnesota Twins left-handed pitcher Rich Hill (shoulder) and right-hander Homer Bailey (biceps tendinitis) are continuing to make progress in their attempts at rejoining the starting rotation. Hill threw a bullpen session Tuesday and will face live hitting when the team returns to Minnesota after its current road trip; Bailey is slightly behind Hill, only now ramping up to playing catch. Hill’s lone start of the season resulted in five scoreless innings, while Bailey allowed two runs in his five frames. Without both men in the rotation, Devin Smeltzer appears to have held down a spot for the time being while openers and bullpen games have also been utilized. Neither Hill nor Bailey appear particularly close to game action, so owners can leave them on the waiver wire or their IL spots for the time being.
