8 months agoMinnesota Twins catcher prospect Ricardo Olivar went 5-for-5 with an RBI on Wednesday for Double-A Wichita. The Twins No. 20 prospect impressed in his second game at Double-A. Between High-A and Double-A, Olivar is hitting .299 with 11 and 46 RBI. The 22-year-old has turned heads this season and certainly has made a good impression on his new Double-A team. Olivar is still probably a few years away from making a major-league impact but he has hit at every stop so far in his professional career.

Ricardo Olivar Breaks Out Of Slump With Four-Hit Performance
8 months agoMinnesota Twins catching prospect Ricardo Olivar went 4-for-5 with two doubles on Wednesday evening. This was a nice breakout game for the 22-year-old, who did not tally a hit in his previous five games. Despite the recent slump, the young backstop has performed exceptionally well in his first look at High-A. Across 78 games, the right-handed bat has held a strong .294/.403/.488. Olivar is ranked as the 20th-best prospect in the Minnesota system on MLB.com and could push for a late-season promotion to Double-A.
