Rhys Hoskins Will Lead Philadelphia’s Four-Man Outfield
7 years agoWith four clear outfielders capable of starting, the Philadelphia Phillies will rotate Nick Williams, Aaron Altherr, Odubel Herrera and Rhys Hoskins, according to manager Gabe Kapler. His hope is to limit the starters to 145 games each, allowing them some rest. Hoskins is coming off his monstrous rookie stint with the Phillies last year, raising expectations considerably for what he may accomplish in 2018. The 25-year-old hit .288 this spring with five home runs and nine RBI in 52 plate appearances. Kapler’s plan of rotating outfielders should not hurt Hoskins’ draft positioning, as he should still go somewhere within the first five rounds.
