Rhys Hoskins Homers For The Second Time This Week
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins hit a two-run home run, his second of the week, during Wednesday’s 6-0 win over the Mets. The shot came on a 1-1 fastball over the heart of the plate against Mets reliever Jacob Rhame, a pitch Hoskins drove deep to left field in the top of the ninth. Hoskins has now hit seven home runs, three more than he hit at this time last year. Now in his third season with the Phillies, the impressive 26-year-old also led off the eighth inning with a triple on Wednesday to eventually reach home on a Maikel Franco RBI single. Hoskins is currently slashing .262/.392/.524 with 12 extra-base hits.
