Rhys Hoskins Drills Homer As Phillies Roll
7 years agoWith starting pitcher Jake Arrieta dealing on the mound, the Philadelphia Phillies simply needed a couple of runs from their offense to ensure victory Thursday night. Taking on the Pittsburgh Pirates, Rhys Hoskins was the first man to make noise at the plate. The 25-year-old drilled a solo home run to left in the second inning, setting off what would become a five-run frame. It was Hoskins’ only hit of the night, but it would be plenty, as the Phillies rolled, 7-0. The sophomore continues to be a lightning rod for his offense, guiding them to yet another victory.
