Reiss Knehr Called Up To Start Friday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres pitching prospect Reiss Knehr was called up by the team on Friday and will start in place of Blake Snell (illness) against the Colorado Rockies at Petco Park. Knehr, one of the team's best pitching prospects, was previously pitching at Double-A, where he owned a 3.90 ERA in 55 1/3 innings. The 24-year-old had also accumulated 46 strikeouts compared to 22 walks. Making the jump from Double-A to the majors isn't the easiest thing to do, but Knehr could hold some streaming appeal in deeper leagues if he sticks around after the All-Star break. The Rockies have scored the fewest runs on the road in baseball this season. They also have the league's lowest on-base percentage when on the road.
