Reese McGuire Has Four-Hit Afternoon
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Reese McGuire had his best day at the plate so far this season on Sunday, going 4-for-5 in the team's 7-4 win over the Orioles. Three of his four knocks went for doubles as he scored twice and drove in another pair to help pace the offense to a series victory. The terrific day boosts McGuire's slash line to .277/.329/.431 with one homer, nine runs, and five RBI through 26 games. His numbers aren't lighting the world on fire, but he's arguably been the most productive bat that the Jays have gotten out of the catcher spot this season. It's not enough to thrust McGuire into a fantasy-relevant asset, but it could mean he gets more playing time moving forward with Danny Jansen set to return to the lineup soon.
