Redskins Draft Bryce Love As Derrius Guice Insurance
6 years agoThe Washington Redskins drafted Stanford running back Bryce Love in the fourth round on Saturday. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist two years ago but suffered an ACL tear in 2018 and could begin his rookie season on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Derrius Guice was drafted in the second round in 2018 and missed all of the season with a torn ACL of his own. Washington also has veteran Adrian Peterson, Chris Thompson, Samaje Perine and Byron Marshall. Love could be a natural replacement for Thompson in 2020. Guice was ahead of schedule in his offseason recovery, but he might now be a question mark for training camp. Love won't have redraft appeal in 2019, and Guice's status being in doubt makes him a risky option as well.
