1 year agoThe Cincinnati Reds signed free-agent left-handed reliever Chasen Shreve to a minor-league deal on Thursday, according to the team's transactions page. Shreve is a 10-year major-league veteran and had a 4.79 ERA (4.06 FIP), 1.38 WHIP, 12 walks and 42 strikeouts in 41 1/3 relief innings for the Detroit Tigers this year before he was released by the team last Friday. In 10 major-league campaigns with six different teams, Shreve has posted a 3.98 ERA (4.66 FIP), 1.34 WHIP, two saves and a 25.3 percent strikeout rate in 352 2/3 innings pitched.
