Reds Showing Interest In Wade Miley
6 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds are showing interest in free-agent starting pitcher Wade Miley, according to a source. Miley worked with current Reds pitching coach Derek Johnson during his breakout season in 2018 in Milwaukee. Miley got off to a late start due to injury, but he surprised us all when he returned, posting a great 2.57 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 50 strikeouts in 80 2/3 innings over 16 starts for the Brew Crew. Before 2018, Miley last posted an ERA south of 4.00 in 2013 with the D-Backs, and he was terrible with the Mariners and Orioles the last two years. It was a nice rebound for Miley in 2018, but the lefty is 32 and doesn't strike many hitters out, giving him little room for error. He'd have even less room for error at hitter-friendly Great American Ballpark.
