Reds Release Hunter Strickland
Hunter Strickland on Tuesday. Strickland had yet to appear in the big leagues for the Reds this season and was pitching on the farm at Triple-A Louisville, where he had allowed 14 runs on 13 hits (two home runs) while walking 12 and striking out eight in 11 relief innings. The 34-year-old right-hander has 28 career saves in nine major-league seasons, but he'll be looking for work elsewhere now that he's on the open market. In his 66 relief appearances for the Reds in 2022, Strickland had a 4.91 ERA (4.78 FIP), 1.51 WHIP and 21.1 percent strikeout rate in 62 1/3 innings pitched.
