3 months agoThe Cincinnati Reds recalled outfield prospect Rece Hinds from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday and placed outfielder Stuart Fairchild (thumb) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 26) in a corresponding move with a left-thumb sprain. The 23-year-old Hinds, who is the team's No. 15 prospect per MLB Pipeline, did not start in Tuesday's contest against the Oakland Athletics, and he'll most likely serve in a reserve role in his second MLB stint. He took major-league baseball by storm upon his initial call-up, going 11-for-22 with five home runs, three doubles, a triple, 11 RBI and two steals in his first six games before 1-for-16 with a double and five strikeouts in his ensuing four games before being sent back to Louisville. All of his 10 starts came in right field, so if anything, Hinds may be on the short side of a platoon against lefties in his return.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
