Reds Designate Casey Legumina For Assignment
20 seconds agoAccording to the team, the Cincinnati Reds have designated right-handed pitcher Casey Legumina for assignment. This transaction opened a roster spot for outfielder Austin Hays, who the team officially signed on Thursday. Legumina has logged 22 innings in the major leagues over the past two seasons. During this small stint, the right-hander held a 6.95 ERA with a 1.91 WHIP. Last summer at Triple-A, Legumina posted a 3.24 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP across 58 1/3 innings. He struck out 57 batters while allowing 18 free passes. This was a nice improvement compared to the 4.83 ERA and 1.67 WHIP he held during his first look at Triple-A in the 2023 campaign. Fantasy managers should expect the former 11th-round pick to open the 2025 season at the Triple-A level.
