Reds Bring Up Eduardo Salazar From Minors
1 year agoThe Cincinnati Reds selected the contract of right-hander Eduardo Salazar from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday and designated right-hander Silvino Bracho for assignment in a corresponding move. Salazar, a Venezuelan native, was signed in 2017. He's had a breakout year in the minors with a 0.51 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 17 2/3 relief innings for Louisville and Double-A Chattanooga. Of his 117 minor-league appearances in six seasons, Salazar has made 76 starts, so he could be a candidate for Cincinnati's banged-up rotation in the short term. For now, the 25-year-old is just one to watch in deeper fantasy leagues.
